The whole car is analysed for any paint imperfections, paint chips, scratches, scuffs etc. A report is compiled for the customer. This is discussed with the customer as to the best way to move forwards.
Tools used:- a paint depth measuring device, a microscope and lighting.
Having agreed the works to be carried out, work is commenced on the washing process. This step involves several stages. Firstly the wheels are washed, the wheel arches are washed and the lower half of the car. All door shuts, boot shuts and petrol cap is thoroughly cleaned as well. This step can include the engine clean.
Products used:- Swissvax mixing bottle; Various wheel brushes; Swissvax wheel concentrate; Swissvax Pneu; Swissvax Autobahn; Swissvax paint rubber; Swissvax Cleaner fluid; Swissvax engine concentrate; Swissvax motorshine; Tar and adhesive remover; All purpose cleaner; Degreaser.
Sparkling Rims - Originally, this product was developed for German customers of fast motor cars with alloy or magnesium wheels. The product has been tested on German Autobahns on cars with top speeds of
300 km/h, in Switzerland during the winter (Switzerland has one of the
harshest “road climates“ in the world using salt and harsh winter
chemicals) and on race tracks in Austria and Germany.
A wax for wheels Swissvax Autobahn wheel wax
enhances the surface of your wheels with a visible smooth shine
and helps repel brake dust particles. Brake dust, road salt, harsh
winter chemicals, moisture and road contaminates can hardly
penetrate the protective and heat resistant Carnauba wax coating,
which is enhanced with PTFE1. Wheel cleaning will take only a
fraction of the time it used to take. Swissvax Autobahn wheel wax is
safe for aluminum, polished aluminum, coated aluminum, magnesium,
chrome, clear coat and painted wheels. Use it on used as
well as on new wheels to maintain them in an as new condition.
The car is then washed thoroughly. This step involves a pressure wash; snowfoaming the car; and a 2 bucket wash with a grit guard. The car is then dried.
Products used:- Swissvax car bath; snowfoam; Lambswool mitt; 2 buckets with grit guards.
All plastics are cleaned.
Plastics contain plasticizers (softners) to keep them flexible, as well as fillers that determine the type of surface finish. Heat, cold, solvet-containing cleaners, UV radiation and other environmental agents attack plastics over the years and make them dry and brittle. Industrial products called “penetrating preservatives’” have been developed to solve this problem, but almost all of them are based on silicone.
Swissvax offers Protection Matt for interior plastics, a preservative product enriched with precious oils. It replaces moisture that the plastic has lost and restores plastic parts to their original appearance.
For exterior plastics Swissvax offers Protection, an emulsion of gloss agents and preservatives. It replaces moisture lost from the plastics and protects the surface from discolouration and cracking.
Products used:- Swissvax plastic wash; swissvax protection matt; Swissvax protection.
Rubber surfaces are cleaned.
Oxidation resulting from UV light, oxygen, salt, etc. make rubber look unpleasantly brownish, “sulphured out” and generally neglected.
Swissvax Pneu is an emulsion of glossing agents and preservatives with active washing substances and light-protection additives. It replaces lost moisture in the rubber mixture and protects the surface from discoloration and cracking.
Let’s get right to the point: rubber has nothing to do with plastics. Quite the contrary: rubber is a natural product and most plastic care products have no business being applied to rubber parts. Rubber gets brittle, cracked and unsightly over the years, so regular care of all rubber parts is very important.
Swissvax Seal Feed was developed exclusively for rubber and keeps rubber seals pliable for years. It also effectively prevents seals from freezing in winter. A regular upkeep schedule is by far the best way to protect your automotive investment. It guarantees a consistently good finish and appearance whilst helping to retain a maximum amount of your vehicle’s value. Use the table above to schedule the relevant upkeep activities.
We recommend to:
• Cleaner Fluid and wax your car every 6 months.
• wax your car every 3 months.
• wash your car weekly.
Products used:- Swissvax seal feed; Swissvax pneu
This step is the most time consuming – can take 1 to 3 days depending on the condition of the car.
After preparing the vehicle with Swissvax Cleaner Fluid, do not drive or use the vehicle until the paintwork has been sealed with a Swissvax wax. Otherwise, areas that have been cleaned with Swissvax Cleaner Fluid will be exposed to environmental factors and will have no protection. Even with a new car, it is advisable to seal the paint shortly after purchase. Why? Because importers and dealers often use harsh, solvent-based cleaners to remove the manufacturer’s protective wax prior to delivery.
New cars:- Preparing the painted finish Use Swissvax Cleaner Fluid. This paint preserving solution will nourish the paint with its “heavy” polishing oils. The product does not contain abrasives. Swirl marks, light scratches, tar, tree sap and old wax are completely removed. Cleaner Fluid stops short of the underlying paint layer without scratching it. Conventional polishes do their job by using abrasives. The disadvantage is that they start chafing away the paint, as abrasive particles continue working through a new paint layer.
paintwork
Sealing the paint - As a general rule: the higher the wax content of the formulation, the better the protection and gloss that is afforded. Swissvax waxes protect the paintwork against almost
all everyday attacks on your paintwork. These include industrial
pollutants, airborne oxidants or soot from oil heating systems,
etc. And acid rain, bird droppings, tree sap and insect residues can be
very damaging to paint. Horizontal surfaces suffer the
most, especially the bonnet, which also experiences a great deal of
stress under bonnet heat. Make sure you rewax these areas more
frequently than other parts of the vehicle. The paints used today in the automotive industry contain a significantly lower concentration of solvents
than before. These changes have also made them, as a rule,
more difficult to polish. The use of abrasive-free Swissvax
waxes is an effective way to prevent hologramming. The resultant
finish is haze-free and with a high-gloss.
Swissvax waxes have the great advantage that they do not leave white residues at edges or in bodywork seams. With conventional automobile polishes this is unfortunately not the case. Old dried white residues can effectively be removed with a soft toothbrush, first moistened with Swissvax Cleaner Fluid for stubborn deposits.
Used cars :- Prepare all the paintwork, paying special attention to frontal areas including wing mirrors with Swissvax Paint Rubber. Swissvax Paint Rubber is a mineral based elastic compound that will gently remove deposits from the paint surface without harming the paint itself. Paint Rubber effortlessly removes paint overspray, environmental and industrial contaminants and leaves an ultra smooth painted surface.
Products used:- Swissvax cleaner fluid, strong, medium and professional. Various compounds including Menzerna and 3M. Various buffing pads; Roary and Dual action machines.

What is PTFE? Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE¹) resin is in a class of paraffinic polymers that have some or all of the hydrogen replaced by fluoride. The original PTFE¹ resin was invented by DuPont in 1938. PTFE¹ is a completely fluorinated polymer manufactured by free radical polymerization of tetrafluoroethylene. With a linear molecular structure of repeating – CF-CF2-units, PTFE¹ is a crystalline polymer with a melting point of about 621°F (327°C). Density is 2.13 to 2.19 g. PTFE¹ has exceptional resistance to chemicals. Its dielectric constant (2.1) and loss factor are low and stable across wide temperature and frequency range. PTFE¹ has useful mechanical properties from cryogenic temperatures at 500°F (280°C) continuous service temperatures. Its coefficient of friction is lower than almost any other material.

Cleaning the glass surfaces.
Rain-X makes water simply bead up on glass surfaces. That means
perfectly clear, streak-free visibility in the rain even with less
efficient windscreen wipers. This is particularly important at night
with oncoming traffic. Insect residues can be removed with little
more than a damp cloth.
windows and metal parts
Most car care product manufacturers give only secondary consideration
to the glass surfaces of a vehicle. Swissvax disagree: like the
paintwork and wheels, the windows are an important element in
the well-kept appearance of your vehicle. That’s why you should
establish clarity here, right from the start.
Environmental factors such as silicone, tar, insects, diesel fumes
etc. leave residues on external window surfaces that can have a
negative effect on visibility, especially when windscreen wipers
are used in the rain.
Clear as glass Swissvax Crystal is a premixed, ready-to-use glass
cleaner that will appeal to even the experienced concours d’élégance
enthusiast. It cleans quickly and with no streaking, and will not
damage any tint or film on your windows.
Vinyl and plexi glass flexible rear windows made of vinyl are extremely scratch sensitive and tend to yellow with age. Swissvax has developed Vinyl
Clear, a product for gentle, nondamaging maintenance of flexible
vinyl windows, helmet visors, motorcycle windscreens, display covers,
instrument covers, etc.
Products used:- Rain-X; Swissvax Crystal; Swissvax Vinyl clear;
Metal parts are cleaned.
Chrome-plated parts These are important and elegant
eye catchers on any vehicle. Contrary to popular opinion, however,
chrome does need regular care: the chromium layer is extremely
thin and can corrode if not maintained. Be absolutely sure to use
a polish that is free of abrasives. Unfortunately chrome plating is
often polished with overly aggressive agents, marring its spotless
gloss with ugly hairline scratches.
Nickel and brass radiators - These should be treated with a polish whose main purpose is to offer long-term protection from reoxidation. If a low quality polish is used, repolishing is often necessary after nothing more than a good rain shower, since the gloss can quickly become mottled by ugly water spots.
Aluminium reacts very sensitively to overly harsh polishes. A properly
balanced product can create the long lasting gloss so desirable
on cylinder heads, valve covers, wheels, etc.
Swissvax Metal Polish cleans, polishes and protects all metals.
It removes deposits, corrosion and oxidation efficiently, quickly
and gently. It produces a high gloss and offers effective long term
protection. Metal Polish is also suitable for brass and nickel.
It offers extended protection from acid rain droplets as well as coolant
spotting on radiator grilles.
Products used:- Swissvax metal polish.
All interior surfaces are cleaned, including leather.
Leather upholstery and interior trim is very durable when it is
dry. Care must be taken, however, cleaning leather wet. The use
of conventional leather cleaners is often problematic, since they
contain solvents, which accelerate leather ageing and may possibly
even remove dyes.I
nterior fittings, leather and fine woods
Swissvax Leather Cleaner contains biodegradable active ingredients.
This pH-neutral formula, enriched with glycerine, can be
used for regular cleaning without damaging the leather colour. As a
“liquid leather soap” it has an outstanding cleaning power.
Seats, upholstery, side mouldings and steering wheels start to show signs of wear, even in well cared for automobiles, that spoil one’s overall impression. Swissvax dyes are simply applied with a small sponge. The dye sets automatically and permanently, without leaving a heavy layer of pigment as is often the case with other sprayed-on leather tintings. Choose from 46 standard colours and over 1200 special Pantone colours.
Leather Glaze - New leather remains new leather. With the application of Leather Glaze the signs of wear can be drastically reduced. The driver’s seat is the place where the leather receives the most noticeable wear. That’s why automobile seats should always be protected with Leather Glaze.
Applying a protectant - This important procedure is often omitted. Modern and highly effective fabric and leather protectants (such as 3M Scotchgard or Teflon) offer outstanding protection.
Wood care - Fine wood interior trim requires special care. Most wood trim is protected with several coats of clear lacquer. Swissvax Wood Polish has been an insider secret among concours d’élégance enthusiasts for years. This incredible wax for both gloss and matt wood finishes contains ultra pure yellow Brazilian Grade One carnauba wax for an incomparable shine.
Bird droppings and insect residues should therefore always be removed from the paintwork as quickly as possible. Lots of clean water, a Swissvax towel and some shampoo are usually all you need to eliminate these nasty spots. And if there is no water handy, we recommend using Swissvax Quick Finish as it allows you to eliminate paint etching without scratching the surface of the finish. The wonders of nature... … are not always so wonderful. There are many natural elements that can potentially damage the cars finish – from Acid rain to bird droppings and insects to tree sap. Despite all our modern technologies we have still not found a way to eliminate the effect of these on automotive paintwork. The droppings left by birds and insects constitute a particular problem for paintwork. These substances are extremely corrosive and can permanently damage the paint surface.
